What subjects do you cover?
At Ahead of the Curve Education, we focus on math, science, engineering, and scientific writing. School tutoring subjects include:
Grade 9 and 10 math and science
Grade 11 functions, biology, chemistry, and physics
Grade 12 functions, calculus, data management, biology, chemistry, and physics.
For enrichment tutoring sessions, a wide variety of topics can be explored, including subjects not taught in high school such as neuroscience, biochemistry, genetics, psychology, microbiology, discrete mathematics, materials sciences, and much more!
University prep classes focus on skills students need to succeed during the transition to university, such as strategizing for course selection and academic writing.
My child has a specific interest that I want them to learn about. Can Ahead of the Curve help with that?

Does Ahead of the Curve offer in-person tutoring?
The majority of Ahead of the Curve tutoring is virtual, but depending on your location, in-person tutoring may be possible. Feel free to reach out to inquire if you’re interested in in-person tutoring!

Laura specializes in math and science tutoring for high school and university-level students. With a strong academic background in neuroscience, biology, and chemistry, she offers expert support in these subjects to help students understand complex concepts and improve their academic performance.
What is Laura’s educational and research background?
Laura earned a B.Sc. Honours in Neuroscience and Mental Health from Carleton University in 2022, with minors in Biology and Chemistry. She conducted research on Parkinson’s disease, stress, and ALS through roles in the Hayley Lab and the Amgen Scholars program at the University of Toronto.
